Join the Volunteer Team at WordCamp Asia 2027
Application is now open.
WordCamp Asia is powered by people who give their time, skills, energy, and enthusiasm to create a welcoming experience for the WordPress community. For WordCamp Asia 2027 in Penang, Malaysia, we are inviting community members from across the world to help make the event possible.
Volunteering is a practical way to contribute to WordPress, meet people from different communities, learn how a large WordCamp operates, and help thousands of attendees have a smooth and memorable experience. Whether this is your first WordCamp or you have volunteered before, we would love to hear from people who are ready to serve, collaborate, and learn.

Why Volunteer at WordCamp Asia?
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:.
- Connect and build lasting relationships with WordPress contributors, professionals, organizers, speakers, sponsors, and attendees from around the world.
- Develop practical skills in event operations, communication, teamwork, attendee support, and community organizing.
- Give back to the open-source project and community that brings us together.
- Experience WordCamp Asia from behind the scenes and help shape the attendee experience.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for volunteers who are dependable, welcoming, respectful, and ready to work as part of a diverse team. You do not need to be a WordPress expert to volunteer. What matters most is your willingness to contribute and support others.
We especially value volunteers who are:
- Accountable and able to follow through on assigned responsibilities.
- Clear, kind, and responsive communicators who work collaboratively with team leads and fellow volunteers.
- Trustworthy and respectful of attendees, speakers, sponsors, and fellow volunteers.
- Punctual and available for their agreed shifts, and quick to let Volunteer Leads know if their availability changes.
- Flexible whenever an event needs change and willing to move between roles or support another team when required.
- Committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment, and comfortable asking for help when unsure rather than leaving a task unsupported.
- Willing to attend the required onboarding and orientation sessions and follow the WordCamp Code of Conduct.
