Call for next host City

WordCamp Asia brings the WordPress community from across Asia and around the world together to learn, contribute and build lasting connections.

Each year, a new city welcomes the community and becomes part of WordCamp Asia’s story. Applications are now open for the host city of WordCamp Asia 2028.

Why host WordCamp Asia?

Hosting WordCamp Asia gives your local community the opportunity to:

  • Welcome attendees, contributors, speakers and sponsors from across the region.
  • Share your city’s culture, food and character with an international audience.
  • Strengthen your local WordPress community and encourage new contributors.
  • Build relationships that continue long after the event has ended.

Hosting a flagship WordCamp is a serious commitment, but you will not be expected to do it alone. The WordCamp Asia Leadership Team and the wider WordPress community will provide guidance throughout the planning process.

What are we looking for?

Your city should have:

  • An active and welcoming WordPress community.
  • Experience organising local events, such as meetups or WordCamps.
  • A suitable venue with capacity for approximately 1,500 people.
  • Good transport connections and practical access for local and international visitors.
  • A committed organising team with the time, skills and diversity needed to plan a regional event.
  • A clear understanding of accessibility, safety and inclusive event planning.

You do not need to have hosted an event of this size before. What matters is having a reliable team, a supportive local community and the willingness to work closely with the wider WordCamp Asia organising team.
