What Makes a Great WordCamp Talk?
We’re looking for talks that share knowledge rather than sell products. The strongest proposals usually:
- teach something practical
- share genuine experiences
- include real examples
- offer actionable takeaways
- encourage discussion
- present original ideas
Sales presentations, product promotions, or marketing pitches are not a good fit for WordCamp.
How Proposals Will Be Reviewed
Each eligible proposal will be reviewed independently by members of the Program Team. We will consider its value to the WordPress community, clarity, relevance, practical insight, learning outcomes, and suitability for the selected audience and format.
Final selections will also consider the overall balance of topics, perspectives, experience levels, regions, and session formats.
First-Time Speakers Are Welcome
You don’t need previous speaking experience to apply. If you have something valuable to share, we encourage you to submit a proposal.
Selected speakers can receive guidance and feedback through the WordPress Diverse Speaker Support network and experienced WordCamp mentors.
Our Diverse Speaker support group, where selected speakers can get support and feedback from more experienced WordCamp speaker mentors
Why apply to speak at WordCamp Asia 2027?
We’re looking for sessions that teach, inspire, or challenge, not product pitches or polished sales talks. Think about what someone else might learn from your experience.

Make an Impact
- Share your knowledge through technical insights, design approaches, business lessons, or personal stories.
- Your talk could be the breakthrough someone else in the community needs.

Gain Global Visibility
- Your talk reaches not only those in the room but also the global community watching the recordings and following online.

Build Real Connections
- Meet developers, designers, marketers, agencies, and contributors who share your passion.
- Many collaborations and friendships begin at WordCamps and continue long after the event.

Keep It Real
- We value practical lessons and authentic stories over polished sales pitches.
- Strong talks are clear, relevant, practical, and original.
Tips for Your Application
Help us understand both your topic and your presentation style. If you’ve spoken at conferences before, include links to your previous talks.
If this is your first time speaking, you’re welcome to record a short 5- to 10-minute video introducing yourself and explaining your proposed session. Upload it somewhere accessible and include the link in your application.
This is optional but can help reviewers better understand your presentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
You may submit up to two session proposals. If more than two are submitted, only the two most recent submissions will be reviewed. If you need to withdraw a proposal or have any questions, please contact: asia-speakers@wordcamp.org
If you’re selected as a speaker, you’ll receive a complimentary WordCamp Asia ticket. If you’ve already purchased one, you’ll be eligible for a refund.
Yes. During the event, unexpected situations can arise. If you’re willing to serve as a backup speaker, you can indicate this in your application.
Choosing this option does not reduce your chances of being selected as a regular speaker. It simply helps the program team prepare for unforeseen circumstances.

Diversity Matters
WordCamp Asia brings together voices from all over the world. We actively welcome submissions from underrepresented communities, new speakers, and those with diverse experiences and perspectives.
The WordPress Diverse Speaker Training group has been working since 2017 to develop a 60-minute workshop. Check it out to learn more. There is also a Slack channel, Diverse Speaker support group, in the main WordPress Slack, where you can meet potential speakers from marginalized and underrepresented groups.
