The inaugural WordCamp Asia successfully took place in Bangkok from 17 to 19 February 2023.
Writing this blog post fills us with incredible joy, as the journey to reach this point was much more challenging than anticipated. I’m proud of my organising team’s achievements in bringing this large-scale project to fruition, which took nearly four years from the initial application submission to the final execution.
We are thrilled to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from the attendees of WordCamp Asia. They expressed satisfaction with the event’s organisation, content, and overall experience.
We couldn’t have done it without the support and encouragement of the community — our attendees, sponsors, speakers, and volunteers for 2020 and 2023. Your contributions and participation were instrumental in making WordCamp Asia such a success.

This first WC Asia was my chance to finally travel to Asia for the first time. It was also a great example, how much we as a community can do, when we all follow one goal.
I have spoken with many organizers on the event and assured them, that they did an amazing job! But my thanks go beyond the organizing team of WCAsia 2023. I also want to thank those organizers who were involved in 2020, when the event was canceled only 9 day prior to the event. And I also want to thank every single organizer of every single WordCamp in Asia that ever happened before. Without so many local communities, it would have been hard to form a diverse organizing team from so many different countries to make this event happen!
I’m looking forward to many WC Asia flagship event to come … which I can use to visit as many different Asian countries as possible in the coming years 🙂
