Ticket Refund Process

If you are unable to attend the event, we encourage you to cancel your ticket or request a refund. This helps make tickets available to others on the waiting list and allows them to attend WordCamp Asia 2023. Cancelling your ticket and requesting a refund is an easy way to support your fellow members of the WordPress community.

How to Refund Your Ticket

To refund your ticket, there are four steps:

  1. Check your inbox
  2. Click on the link in the email
  3. Request a Refund
  4. Confirm and Complete

Step 1. Check your inbox

First, locate the confirmation email we sent when you purchased a WordCamp Asia ticket. You may find the email by searching for the subject line “Your Ticket to WordCamp Asia 2023” in your email inbox. If you cannot find your ticket access link, please send us an email, and we will provide you with the link.

Step 2. Click on the link in the email

To get a refund for your purchased ticket (not a WCAsia 2020 reserved ticket and redeemed in 2022), visit the ticket access link in your confirmation email.

Step 3: Request a Refund

The refund link can be accessed by clicking on the ticket edit link in the email.

Step 4: Confirm and Complete

After clicking on the refund link, you will be taken to the refund request form. While it is optional to include a reason for the refund, you must check the “I agree to the above terms” checkbox and click “Send Request” to complete the process.

Please be aware that only tickets purchased in the 2022 batches are eligible for a refund. If you received a complimentary ticket or claimed a free ticket as a WordCamp Asia 2020 attendee, you are not eligible for a refund. However, you can still transfer your ticket to someone else or cancel it by filling out this form:

If you still cannot request a refund, please contact us for assistance. We will manually refund it for you.

Please note that refunds may take several days to process. When you request a refund, all the tickets you purchased in the original transaction will be cancelled. It is not possible to provide partial refunds or issue a refund to a different account than the one used to make the original purchase. To request a refund, you must agree to these terms.

How to Transfer/Cancel Your WCAsia 2020 Redeemed Ticket

WCAsia 2020 tickets that have been redeemed for WCAsia 2023 cannot be refunded. However, they can be transferred to another person. If you are unable to attend the event and would like to transfer your ticket to someone else, you will need to follow the steps below:

  1. Check the confirmation email sent to you when you redeemed the ticket. This email should contain a link to edit your ticket information.
  2. Click on the link to edit your ticket information and enter the name and contact information of the person you would like to transfer the ticket to.
  3. Submit the updated information to confirm that you would like to transfer the ticket to the new attendee. You can verify the transfer by checking the new user information on the Attendees page.

More details can be found here: https://asia.wordcamp.org/2023/transfer-your-ticket/

If for some reason you could not process the transfer contact us, and we will then handle the transfer process and ensure that the new ticket holder has access to the event. If you do decide to cancel your redeemed ticket, please fill out this form:

It is important to keep in mind that standard and micro-sponsor tickets from WCAsia 2020 that have been redeemed are non-refundable and can only be transferred or cancelled. If you choose to cancel your ticket, it will no longer be transferable or redeemable as it will be added to the pool of available tickets that can be repurchased by others. Please carefully consider whether or not you will be able to attend the event before making any changes to your ticket, as transfers and cancellations may not be possible after the fact.

If you have been selected as a speaker, volunteer, or AV Crew and redeemed your ticket for a specific purpose, the tickets can only be canceled. If you have any questions about your ticket, feel free to send us an email so that we can help you out with the situation.
