Call for Wapuu

Call for Wapuu

WordCamp Asia 2023 is now calling Wapuu fans to propose a Wapuu design for WordCamp Asia! Hello again, I’m tuk-tuk Wapuu. Do you remember me? I am the Wapuu selected for WordCamp Asia 2020, but could not make a debut due to the cancellation of WordCamp Asia 2020. For the coming WordCamp Asia 2023, I’d like to invite a new Wapuu who can welcome the guests in Bangkok with me, Tuk-tuk Wapuu!

What is Wapuu?

Wapuu was created by Kaneuchi Kazuko as an unofficial mascot for WordPress in Japan, as a result of an idea first brought up during WordCamp Tokyo 2009 after-party. The first Wapuu was unveiled at WordCamp Fukuoka 2011.

Since then, WordCamps all over the world have been creating their version of Wapuu to be their mascot. Wapuu is entertaining WordPress users around the globe!
