In March 2024, WordCamp Asia will be held in Taipei, a city that blends rich cultural traditions with modernity.
About the City
Famous for being a centre of technology, business, and art, Taipei is also home to many notable historical landmarks and institutions, including the National Palace Museum, National Taiwan Museum and the Taipei 101 skyscraper. Meanwhile, it’s also a city for nature lovers, including Beitou, where you can enjoy decent hot springs, and Yangming Mountain, where you can bathe yourself in the Alocasia fields.
As the capital city of Taiwan, Taipei is a vibrant and dynamic metropolis with a thriving creative community and a diverse population.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to WordCamp Asia in Taipei, Taiwan!
Not sure if Taipei is the right place or not for the next WordCamp. For almost all of the Asian countries, it’s super complicated to get VISA for Taiwan.
Like for Bangladesh and India, there has no direct way to get VISA for Taiwan and same story for other developing countries.
My question is to the organizers:
– Did you think about this issue while choosing the venue?
– If yes, how much help we will get for VISA procedure?
Don’t want to miss any WordCamp Asia but I am really afraid about the VISA processing for the next WordCamp Asia.
Thank you for your concern. This is Eric from WordCamp Asia 2024 Local team.
The local team will try our best to make our foreign friends easier for the visa.
Shahjahan,
I’m not sure why you say that the Visa process for citizens living in developing countries is complicated to Visit Taiwan. It is certainly not complicated.
It’s actually very easy to apply for a Republic of China (Taiwan) Visa. You can do it only here: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/BOCA_EVISA/home.do
They provide both a physical and a eVisa and it’s quite easy to apply.
I think, Taiwan is Visa-free
