We are thrilled to announce Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of WordPress, as WordCamp Asia 2023’s keynote speaker. Apart from leading the open-source platform that powers 43% of the web, Matt Mullenweg is also the founder & CEO of Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, and Tumblr. Matt has been recognized for his leadership and success by media giants like Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, Inc Magazine, TechCrunch, Fortune, Fast Company, Wired, University Philosophical Society, and Vanity Fair to name a few.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Matt attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where he studied jazz saxophone. His love for jazz is expressed in the naming of every major WordPress release which honours a notable jazz artist. In his spare time, Matt is an avid photographer, hence his Twitter handle @photomatt. The keynote session — Ask Matt Anything (AMA) — is organized as a Q&A with Nirav Mehta playing the role of emcee and host. Nirav is a WordPress community veteran from India and the founder of successful WordPress businesses.
Ask Matt Anything (AMA) will take place on 19 February 2023, between 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm (UTC +07).
In addition to taking in-person questions from a live audience at WordCamp Asia 2023, Matt will answer a select few pre-submitted questions. Due to time constraints, we expect to cover around five questions.
If you prefer to ask your question asynchronously, this is your opportunity to send them in for Matt’s eyes and response. Just a reminder, the entire WordCamp Asia event will be live-streamed, including AMA.
Update @ 11 February – We are no longer accepting questions asynchronously as we prepare for the event. If you are attending the event, you can ask them with Matt in-person.
