Attending
Q: Do I have to be a developer to attend WordCamp?
A: In short, no. We embrace the idea of inclusion, which makes most WordCamps try to have a little something for everyone. Please check our event schedule to learn more about the sessions and speakers. All attendees may choose sessions in which they are interested.
Q: How many people will be there?
A: We expect about 1500 people to be in attendance, do not expect a situation where the event gets cancelled.
Q: What should I prepare for entry to Thailand?
A: Travelers entering Thailand are not required to show proof of vaccination or COVID-19 test results. Travel Insurance is still highly recommended when you travel to Thailand. You can track the weekly updates from the website.
Q: What if my government stops me from attending as a sponsor?
A: In the case that your government applies exit or entrance limitation that prevents you from adequately participating in the event, we are unable to offer a refund. This is because your sponsorship goes towards paying for the venue, equipment and other pieces that simply will not be refunded.

Q: What should I bring on Contributor Day?
A: Laptop – You will need to be able to access the Make WordPress Slack instance and the team’s online-based onboarding materials.
Email Ticket – You will need your email ticket to get the name badge and to enter the venue.
Q: Can you help me with choosing the team? I am interested but unsure of which table to choose.
A: Feel free to contact us. Organisers will give you some ideas on choosing the team. Contributing is easier than you think! Or you can join the #contributor-day channel in Make WordPress Slack and ask your queries.
We also have an orientation tool available to guide you in choosing the table.
Q: What do you get in return for contributing?
A: WordPress is driven by a commitment to open source, inclusiveness, giving, and diversity. There are a lot of reasons people choose to become active contributors. Find out how you’ll benefit from contributing to WordPress as well.
Q: Do I need to have prior experience?
A: No, you don’t need any prior contributing experience – anyone can get involved, and many new contributors get started at Contributor Days on WordCamps around the world. That is a great way of gaining experience and improving your skills whilst making a meaningful contribution to a widely-used open-source WordPress project.
For those unsure about how they can best contribute to the WordPress project, a Contributor Day also represents an opportunity to dip a toe in the water of the different areas and ways of contributing and to discover what appeals to you or matches your skillset.

Q: I am a developer. Can I still join?
A: Of course! There are a number of Teams where your skills will be helpful. Maybe you can join the Core, Meta, or CLI Team and contribute.
Q: Do I need to prepare for it?
A: Though not mandatory, you will get more from the day if you arrive with some idea of what you want to do and if you take a little time beforehand to prepare. To help you decide on a contributing area, visit the Make WordPress website for information about what each Team does.
We will also release a series of onboarding guides to help you prepare for the event. Our guides will also contain instructions on how to set up your computer with any software you might need on the big day to help ensure you can hit the ground running.
Q: Do I need to be a developer?
A: No, you do not have to be a programmer to take part. There are plenty of other ways to contribute to WordPress and its ecosystem. At the time of writing, there are 21 Teams involved in making WordPress. Here are some examples of tasks that benefit the community but don’t require a single line of code:
- Do you speak more than one language? If so, the Polyglots Team would love to have you on board to help in translating the Core, themes, plugins, or documentation into other languages. There is much to do in this area.
- Are you great at explaining complex topics clearly and simply? Then you have a way with words and an ability to communicate and explain things in a way that makes it easy for others to understand. You would be great at writing documentation.
- Do you have video production skills or a keen eye for design? The WordPress TV and Design teams are always looking for new contributors.
Health Measures

A: Per the latest announcement from the WordPress Community Team, attendees (including organisers, sponsors, and volunteers) of official WordPress events are no longer required to be vaccinated or tested negative. However, one of those actions is highly recommended.
Q: Should I wear a mask?
A: Face masks are not mandatory but are highly recommended. If you see someone wearing a sticker requesting people wear a mask near them, please wear it before you approach them or keep your distance.
