In the last 12 months, since WordCamp Asia Bangkok, tangible artificial intelligence has become mainstream. For example, Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT have become the fastest growing web applications in history. But these models have mostly been developed and trained by large technology companies using proprietary datasets they’ve scooped up from the Internet. As an individual user, you have no way of knowing how much of that data is yours, and you have no way of controlling it either once it’s been ingested. Thankfully there are more and more open models becoming more widespread that you can use yourself.
This talk will give a brief introduction on the current state of AI, what LLMs are, how you can integrate existing LLMs into your own WordPress site, and lastly, for the adventurous, how you can train your own to give more specific results, more control of your own data and tell the other bots to go away.
