Accessibility at WordCamp Asia

We are so excited to see you soon for WordCamp Asia 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan. The organizing team is working hard to make it as comfortable, welcoming, and accessible as possible for all attendees. Here’s the latest info on the venue to help you plan your stay. Check back often for more details as we’ll confirm additional details on what you should expect when you arrive at Taipei International Convention Center (TICC).

About the Venue

WordCamp Asia will take place on multiple levels at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). The South entrance of the Taipei International Convention Center features a welcome driveway and barrier-free access ramp. There are a breastfeeding room, a diaper change table, an infirmary, AEDs, complimentary wheelchair rental, and mobile phone & electric wheelchair charging stations located in the building. Maps and signage around the venue will be provided to help you get around TICC.

WordCamp Asia Event Details

Programming

All speaker presentations are situated in four rooms, including Plenary Hall (Track 1), room 102 (Track 2), room 101B (Track 3), and room 101C (Track 4). During WordCamp Asia 2024, we’ll provide ramps in 101B and the Plenary Hall stages and work with venue staff to ensure wide aisles in all event areas for our motorized devices or wheelchair users, and priority seating. 

WordCamp Asia offers Wordly captioning services that will allow you to directly access captions in 57 languages in real-time from your mobile phone or laptop to supplement those displayed on stage. 

Meals and Special Dietary Concerns

During lunch, we’ll provide a variety of meals to meet your special dietary concerns including allergies, vegetarian, Kosher, or Halal. Lunch will be served in an individual bento box in the Banquet hall on the third floor, with volunteers available to assist. Please contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Quiet and Family Rooms

If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of WordCamp Asia, we provide a quiet room. And if you bring your children with you, the family room is the place for you to hang out and rest. They are both located on the second floor. 

Lactation Room

Anyone who needs a private space for breastfeeding or pumping, please reach out to our volunteers, and we will guide you to the lactation room. 

Prayer Room (Male / Female)  

There’s a Muslim prayer room located on the middle floor close to room 101C.

COVID and Health Guide

According to the travel advice for Taiwan from the US government, it’s currently safe to travel with normal precautions (Level 1). You won’t need to go through rapid health checks or show vaccine records at the airport. However, we still recommend being careful for everyone’s safety. If you have symptoms such as coughing, fever, or sneezing, please consider not coming to the event. We encourage you to be masked while indoors. Additionally, it’s advisable to carry any personal medication you may need and consider getting vaccinated before your trip.

In line with guidelines from the CDC, WHO, and local health authorities, WordCamp Asia won’t require masks or COVID-19 vaccinations.

Need Assistance?

WCAsia staff will be available to assist you during the event. Look for them in black and royal blue T-shirts. For accessibility assistance, you can ask a volunteer, or go to the Information Desk located next to the registration.
