Do I have to know how to code to contribute?

Absolutely not. While coding contributions are always welcome, there are many other ways to contribute that don’t require any coding knowledge. You can translate plugins and themes into your native language, help translate codex articles, submit photos, answer support questions on the forums, write blog posts, organize a local WordCamp, and more.

What if I’ve never contributed before?

No problem at all. Everyone has to start somewhere. The WordPress community is extremely welcoming to new contributors. The Contributor Day organizers and mentors will guide you through the process and help you find a contribution you’re comfortable with based on your skills and interests. You’ll be contributing in no time.

How do I know which team to contribute to?

How much time do I have to commit?

You can contribute as little or as much time as you like. Some contributions only take a few minutes, while others are ongoing. It’s completely up to you and what works with your schedule. Every little bit helps.

Do I get paid to contribute?

Contributing to WordPress is voluntary. While you won’t get paid, there are other benefits like connecting with the community, learning new skills, improving your resume, and building your portfolio. Some contributors have even turned their passion for WordPress into full-time jobs and careers.
