Call for Wapuu

The WordCamp Asia Team is calling on everyone to submit their Wapuu design for WordCamp Asia 2024!

What is Wapuu?

As a result of an idea first brought up during the WordCamp Tokyo 2009 after-party, Wapuu was created by Kaneuchi Kazuko as an unofficial mascot for WordPress in Japan. The first Wapuu was unveiled at WordCamp Fukuoka 2011.

Since then, the WordPress communities all over the world have been creating their own versions of Wapuu usually holding something that represents the local culture. People can’t get enough of Wapuu that the little guy shows up everywhere, especially at WordCamps!

What Do We need?

A Wapuu that best represents WordCamp Asia 2024? One that embodies:

  • Asian culture or the local culture of the host city – Taipei!
  • The vision for WordCamp Asia 2024:
WordCamp is a platform for expressing inclusivity, diversity, engagement, sharing, and support. We extend a warm invitation to individuals from various countries and backgrounds.
