We are thrilled to announce a call for all A/V enthusiasts, regardless of your skill level (Photographers, Videographers, and Interviewers). If you have a passion for capturing moments through your lenses and bringing an artistic touch to events, we want you on board!

WordCamp Asia is set to take place in the vibrant city of Taipei, Taiwan, and we’re inviting you to lend your expertise in photography, filming, editing, and communication to this incredible event. Whether you prefer candid or posed shots, formal or informal settings, interviews or podcasts, your unique perspective is invaluable in preserving the essence of the event. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or an enthusiastic beginner, this is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and gain exposure.
We’re also planning to share the excitement of the event through our social media channels, so we’ve added the role of Photo and Video Editor alongside photography, videography, and interviewing.

Being a part of the A/V Team crew at WordCamp Asia 2024 offers you invaluable experience and the chance to connect with fascinating individuals from all over the world while collaborating with fellow crew members.
As a Photographer/Videographer, you’re encouraged to:
- Express Your Unique Style: Embrace your creative individuality to craft captivating visuals that stand out.
- Craft High-Quality Content: Elevate your photography and videography skills to produce exceptional, top-tier content.
- Refine and Polish: Bring your work to its full potential through expert editing and enhancements.
- Share with the World: Your creations will have a global reach, as they’ll be shared under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license, allowing a wide audience to appreciate your artistry.
As an Interviewer, you’re free to interview:
- Organizers
- Speakers
- Sponsors
- Attendees
Please note that A/V Team crew positions, like all other roles at WordCamp Asia, are voluntary, and no monetary compensation is provided. We kindly ask all team members to utilize their own cameras and equipment to fulfill their roles.
Hey there, aspiring event photographer! To capture stunning moments at WordCamp Asia 2024 like a pro, you’ll want to have the right gear in your camera bag. Here’s a handy checklist of essential equipment
- Camera(s):
- A high-end DSLR or mirrorless camera is essential for professional photography. Look for models with good low-light performance and high-resolution sensors.
- Consider having at least one backup camera in case of technical issues.
- Lenses:
- A selection of lenses is crucial to cover various photography scenarios. At a minimum, you should have:
- A standard zoom lens (e.g., 24-70mm or 24-105mm) for general use.
- A fast prime lens with a wide aperture (e.g., f/1.4 or f/1.8) for low-light conditions and portraits.
- A telephoto lens (e.g., 70-200mm) for capturing subjects at a distance.
- A selection of lenses is crucial to cover various photography scenarios. At a minimum, you should have:
- Tripod:
- A sturdy tripod is essential for stability when shooting in low light or for long exposure shots.
- External Flash(es):
- External flashes are valuable for controlling and enhancing lighting conditions, especially in indoor environments.
- Memory Cards and Storage:
- Ensure you have high-capacity and high-speed memory cards to handle RAW image files.
- Bring extra storage solutions like external hard drives or a laptop for backing up photos during the event.
- Batteries and Chargers:
- Carry spare camera batteries and chargers to keep your camera powered throughout the event.
- Lens Cleaning Kit:
- Dust and smudges can affect image quality. A lens cleaning kit will help you keep your lenses clean.
- Camera Bag:
- Invest in a quality camera bag to transport and protect your equipment.
- Lighting Equipment (Optional):
- Depending on the event’s lighting conditions, you may need additional lighting equipment, such as off-camera flashes or continuous lights.
