Behind the Lineup: Benjamin Rafael F. Intal

Posted

As we countdown to WordCamp Asia 2024, each week we’re inviting you to go behind the lineup and get to know the folks who will be taking to the stage. In today’s post, we chat with Benjamin Rafael F. Intal, a WordPress expert since 2008, founded Gambit Technologies, leading Stackable – a widely used custom block builder, and developed plugins for over 150,000 websites.

Q. Firstly, welcome to the lineup! We’re so glad to have you here. Can you start by telling us a bit about yourself? Where will you be joining the event from, and what does your day-to-day look like?

I’m Benjamin Intal, I created Stackable – Page Builder Blocks plugin. I’ll be joining from the Philippines. My wife and I both run the Stackable team, and part of our team will be in WordCamp Asia as well.

My day to day revolves around working with the code of the Stackable plugin, reviewing pull requests and doing R&D on new block features.

Q. We’re lucky to be welcoming a diverse range of speakers to our program in 2024. What interested you to apply to WordCamp Asia as a speaker?

As an Asian, I want to participate in a major WordCamp in our home camp. I’ve been spending most of my time working with the Block Editor, and I think I might have some nice insights and tips to share with others.

Q. What can audiences expect to learn from your talk/s? Are there any advance sneak peeks or knowledge bombs you can offer us?

A tip or two about working efficiently with the Block Editor and Site Editor

Q. What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Asia 2024? Is there someone you’re looking forward to rubbing shoulder with, or a local delicacy you’d like to sample?

I’m looking forward to what authentic boba tastes like!

Q. Tell us something about yourself that we might not know. Party tricks? Secret hobbies?

I enjoy painting with watercolor, and I run a small online Pokémon card shop on the side.

Q. Lightning Round!
