One of the unique aspects of flagship WordCamps is that a large number of attendees travel to join from all over the places. It’s a great opportunity to meet WordPress enthusiasts from a different city or even a country and learn about differences and commonality between your local community and theirs.
To encourage more of such interactions to happen, we want to invite you to showcase your local or online community at Community Bazaar!
What is Community Bazaar?
In short, it’s an area to display posters of communities (e.g. WordPress meetup, online interest group) and share swag items.
Bring Some Swag
The simplest way for your meetup group to participate in Community Bazaar is to bring some swag from your local meetup or WordCamp. If you don’t have too many, you can just bring one of each for display only. Even just one sticker would be a great representation of your group!
Design a Poster
But if you can spare some time for curious WordCamp Asia attendees, why not create a poster to explain what your meetup group is like? Or share some fun facts and unique initiatives from your group? Swag is great, but stories are what inspire us the most. We are happy to have a printed poster ready for you if you could send us print-ready PDF file (A2 size A4 size, 210 mm x 297 mm) in time.
For inspiration, check out this blog post about WordCamp US 2019 Community Bazaar.
How to Participate
- Fill out this participation form by February 10th.
- If you’re planning to bring some swag
or printed poster, meet us at the Community Bazaar table on the morning of February 22nd. - If you’d like to send a print-ready PDF design file for a poster (
A2A4 size), we must receive the file by February 10th. You can reply to the email that we’ll send out, or please send the file to asia@wordcamp.org.
Edit on January 24: Due to logistical reasons, we made the change on the poster size. Also, we are only accepting poster data (no printed poster please).
Note
Even though we are planning to mark sample items for display only, please understand that the Community Bazaar area will be unstaffed during the event and we can’t be responsible for lost items. We recommend only bringing swag that can be replaced.
