4 Feb 2020 update:
At the moment, all of our preparations for WordCamp Asia are continuing as per normal. Attendees’ safety is our main priority and we have been working directly with Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health to ensure a safe event for all attendees.
27 January 2020 statement:
As you may have seen on the news, a new strain of the respiratory virus was detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan. There are 8 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Thailand. 3 of the infected are being treated and 5 have already recovered and gone home.
The Thailand government have not issued any travel warning and the US Department of State and UK Commonwealth Office have not issued any warning about Coronavirus outbreak when travelling to Thailand.
The organising team is closely monitoring the situation and will do what we can to make sure that WordCamp Asia is safe for everyone.
We will make new updates and travel pre-cautions when we have new development and more information. You may consult your local government on travel & health advisory.
Thank you for posting this. I am concerned that this outbreak might affect the attendance of this WC so good to see that you are being proactive here.

Thanks for the update.
Hey, I just wanted to follow up, Is it worth taking the risk with so many people’s lives as even one infected person can create chaos and infect hundreds of people. The same happened with a convention in Singapore. One person infected so many people from different countries.
So just wanted to confirm if any particular precautions are being taken to take this into consideration.
Thanks
Hey, I haven’t heard anything from you guys, Could you please respond?
