“I discovered that WordPress isn’t just a technology but a community that transformed my frustration into purpose, confidence, and a passion for helping others learn.”

My WordPress Journey

My WordPress journey began in 2014 in Jaipur, when I was simply a learner trying to understand how this vast ecosystem worked. For years, I struggled to find the right direction. After countless Google searches, I finally came across an article explaining how to submit a plugin to the WordPress.org repository. After several attempts and revisions, I managed to publish my first plugin, a small win, but a big moment for me.

Despite this, people around me often said there was “no scope” in WordPress. Friends, colleagues, and even companies encouraged me to switch technologies, yet no one offered real guidance. That lack of support slowly built up frustration and self-doubt.

Everything changed the day I discovered the WordPress Bengaluru meetup page. I attended my first meetup with one burning question:
“Why should I work in WordPress if everyone says there’s no future in it?”

The community answered that question with kindness, clarity, and encouragement. In a single day, years of frustration began to fade.

Since then, I have been actively involved in the community, organising WordCamp Bengaluru 2023 and participating in multiple WordCamps as a speaker, volunteer, and attendee. I have spoken at WordCamp Bhopal 2023 and WordCamp Nepal 2024.

Inspired by the community, I started a YouTube channel focused on WordPress education and launched a WordPress training programme that has now received over 700 registrations. We conduct live sessions on Zoom and stream them on YouTube.

WordPress didn’t just give me a career; it gave me confidence, purpose, and a community I am proud to belong to.
