Kotaro Kitamura is the CEO of Techbridge Inc., based in Osaka, Japan. His company focuses on WordPress site development, maintenance, and security solutions.
He spent over 14 years in corporate sales, serving as a branch manager and working overseas. From 2019 to 2020, he stayed in Mumbai, India, as part of a project to research and launch a new business. During this time, he met talented engineers and startup founders, and experienced advanced web services and applications with beautifully designed, intuitive user interfaces—experiences that inspired him to step into the IT world.
After returning to Japan, he decided to resign from his corporate career and reskill himself in web development. He began with subcontracted coding work, gradually moved into direct contracts for WordPress development and maintenance, and eventually incorporated his own company. Today, he aims to build “the most trusted WordPress maintenance company in Japan,” providing safe and reliable site operations with a strong emphasis on security.
Kotaro joined the WordPress community in 2023. In 2024, he had the opportunity to speak at WordCamp Kansai 2024, and since then he has participated in more than 40 WordPress Meetups. He has also volunteered at WordCamp Asia 2024 and 2025. The knowledge and connections gained through the community have had a profound impact on his production workflow and the direction of his business. He has come to see the WordPress community not only as a place for learning, but also as an “accelerator” for career and business growth.
His expertise lies in WordPress site maintenance and security. This includes strengthening passwords and authentication, managing updates and backups, updating outdated themes and plugins, handling server migrations and domain transfers, and addressing malware infections or technical issues. Through this work, he supports clients not only by solving technical problems but also by acting as a partner who helps them grow their businesses.
At WordCamp Asia 2026, Kotaro hopes to share his story of how his experience in India inspired him to change careers, and how WordPress empowered him to grow his business. The technology and talent he witnessed in India led him into the IT field, and the WordPress community has supported his transformation and growth ever since. He looks forward to sharing how India and WordPress together shaped his journey with the global WordPress community.
