Polyglots, Support, Test

“As a WordPress Support Engineer, I’ve learned that contributing is more than solving issues, it’s about growing, sharing, and being part of a community that helps each other.”
My WordPress Journey
I work as a WordPress Support Engineer. Helping users solve problems is part of my daily job, but I wanted to give back to the WordPress community too. That’s how I started contributing.
I joined the support forums first. I began by answering small questions about plugin errors and updates. Some replies took time to figure out, but each one helped me learn something new.
Now I spend about 10 hours every week on contribution. I test core tickets, confirm bugs, and check if fixes work before new releases. I write clear steps and screenshots when reporting an issue. This makes it easier for developers to verify and solve the problem.
Sometimes I miss small details, but every test improves my skill and the project.
What I like most is the people. Other contributors are kind and helpful. When I make a mistake, they explain things clearly. That kind of teamwork keeps me motivated.
If you want to start contributing, try this:
- Pick one support topic.
- Try to solve it on your own.
- If you find a bug, report it with clear steps.
- Spend at least one hour each week.
You don’t need to be an expert. Every reply or test you do makes WordPress stronger.
Contributing is now part of my weekly routine, and I plan to continue for a long time.
