Overcoming Barriers to Build a Community

My journey began in 2013 with the founding of the WordPress Bangkok Facebook group. As a beginner who struggled with English, building websites felt like an uphill battle, but the community’s encouragement kept me going.

From 2014 to 2019, I transitioned from local meetups to organizing WordCamp Bangkok. Despite language barriers and burnout that almost led me to quit, the 2020 pandemic made me realize how much I valued this connection. I returned for WordCamp Asia 2023, using translation tools and Google Translate to bridge the communication gap on Slack.

The year 2025 marks a major milestone: I applied as an organizer for WordCamp Asia in Manila to finally conquer my communication fears. Currently, I am part of the Contributor Day team and serve as a Content Writer for WordCamp Bangkok 2025.

My focus is on Polyglots (Translation); I believe localizing WordPress is vital so the next generation of Thai users won’t face the hurdles I did. Recently, I successfully led PR efforts that maximized our Contributor Day participation.

To new contributors: joining this community reveals the incredible “behind-the-scenes” of WordPress. You’ll learn from experts, earn profile credits, and find a global family. Don’t let language barriers stop you—I am proof that passion and community support can overcome any obstacle. If I can do it, so can you!
