Why you should attend Contributor Day
WordPress exists in its current form because of thousands of contributors around the world—people just like you, many of whom started by attending a Contributor Day. It now powers over 43% of the web thanks to this shared effort, not just because of any single company or team.
Contributor Day is for everyone:
- Great for both newcomers and experienced contributors.
- A behind‑the‑scenes look at how WordPress is built, maintained, and improved.
- A chance to meet new friends, collaborators, and mentors from all over the world.
- A safe environment to learn by doing—mistakes are expected and welcomed as part of the process.
- A unique opportunity to see your contributions make an immediate impact—sometimes in the very next release or documentation update.
The biggest reason to join? Without contributors like you, WordPress would not be the powerful, flexible platform that so many people depend on.
