Introduction
The WordPress Global Community Team is a worldwide network of volunteers committed to strengthening and connecting the WordPress community across the globe.
This team is running multiple projects with the help of volunteers all around the world.
With the help of WordPress Global Community Team, you can also run or host events like WordPress Campus Connect, Meetups, WordCamps, Contributor Day, etc.
The mission of the Global Community Team is to make organizing WordPress events easier and to create meaningful, positive experiences for everyone involved. With every event, they strive to:
- Bring WordPress enthusiasts together.
- Motivate participants to explore and achieve more with WordPress.
- Inspire community members to contribute to the WordPress open-source project.
These events provide a collaborative space where people can learn from one another, build new skills, and stay up to date with the latest developments in WordPress.
What Does the Community Team Do?
In addition to assisting organizers with hosting local, in-person WordPress events, the team also includes specially trained volunteers who provide direct guidance and support. These volunteers serve as Community Team Program Supporters and Event Supporters, helping organizers run successful and inclusive events.
Your Path as a Contributor
There are many ways to get involved with the WordPress Community Team and a contributor.
- A great place to begin is by organizing Meetups and/or WordCamps in your city. If a group already exists, join it, attend events, and consider getting more involved—whether by supporting the organizers or stepping into an organizing role yourself.
- You can also participate by attending events, applying to speak, volunteering, sponsoring, or helping to organize your local WordCamp or other WordPress gatherings.
- If there isn’t an active WordPress Meetup group in your area—or if the current one is inactive—you’re encouraged to apply and start one in your community.
In addition to that, you can also contribute by translating the Community Team Handbook in your local language.

The Community Team meets regularly to stay connected and collaborate.
