What are the Roles and Responsibilities of an Emcee?
Being an emcee means more than holding a microphone. You’ll set the tone for the event and help create a welcoming space for everyone.
Your role will include:
- Introducing speakers and their topics with clarity and energy.
- Keeping sessions on time and well-paced.
- Engaging the audience and encouraging interaction.
- Sharing key announcements and updates from the organizers.
- Ensuring seamless transitions between talks, breaks, and panels.
- Keeping the audience engaged in cases of technical issues or delays.
What We’re Looking For?
You don’t need to be a professional speaker to apply. What matters most is your confidence, presence, and enthusiasm for the community.

You’ll get to be on stage in front of one of the largest WordPress gatherings in the world. It’s a chance to connect with community members, build your visibility, and learn directly from experts. Emcees also receive a complimentary ticket to attend the event.
Not at all. Prior emcee or hosting experience helps, but what matters most is your ability to speak clearly, hold attention, and keep the room energized.
Yes, go ahead and purchase your ticket when sales open. If you’re chosen as an emcee, you’ll be given a complimentary non-transferable ticket. You can then pass your purchased ticket to someone else.
Our team reviews every application closely. We look for people who can bring energy to the stage and represent the diversity of our community. Final selections are based on schedule needs and balance across applicants.
We will notify selected emcees by the end of December 2025 / starting of January 2026.

Yes, you’re welcome to apply for more than one role. If selected for multiple, you’ll be asked to confirm which one you’d like to take on.
This varies, but emcees usually cover 2-3 sessions in a day. Assignments will be planned, so you’ll know your schedule in advance of the event.
