This continues our efforts from past years. Two people will get the chance to attend Asia’s flagship WordCamp in Mumbai.

Kim Parsell Memorial Scholarship
Kim Parsell was a beloved WordPress community member. She volunteered countless hours to the project. She passed away in 2015.
The scholarship supports one individual by helping offset the cost of traveling to attend in-person WordCamps, recognizing contributors who reflect Kim’s generosity and spirit.The WordPress Foundation has honoured her commitment ever since. Her contributions left a lasting mark on the project.
In her honour, the Foundation funds one person’s travel to an in-person WordCamp. This supports contributors who carry Kim’s spirit forward.

Qualifications
One person will receive this scholarship for WordCamp Asia 2026.
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Is a woman
- Is an active contributor to the WordPress project
- Has not previously attended WordCamp Asia
- Requires financial assistance to attend WordCamp Asia 2026

Diversity Fund Scholarship
WordCamp Asia was launched in 2023 with the goal of bringing together contributors and speakers from around the world while increasing access for people in the region.
But that’s still not enough for many folks in Asia. Visa hurdles and high travel costs hit hard. Foreign exchange rates make things even tougher.
The WordPress Diversity Fund Scholarship helps reduce these barriers, supporting a more diverse, representative group of attendees and ensuring that WordCamp Asia reflects the global community it serves. This scholarship is our way of helping where we can.
Qualifications
This scholarship is awarded to someone who:
- Is an active WordPress project contributor
- Has never attended any flagship WordCamps (Asia, US, or Europe)
- Requires financial assistance to attend
- Is part of the underrepresented demography of open-source contributors
- Is interested in bringing their experience to grow their local WordPress and/or WordPress communities in Asia

Application Period
The applications for both scholarships are open until February 15, 2026.
All applicants will be notified by February 28, 2026.
What Do the Scholarships Cover?
Both scholarships provide financial assistance to attend WordCamp Asia 2026, including:
- Round-trip airfare
- Accommodation for the duration of the event
- WordCamp Asia 2026 pass
The selections will be performed by a WordCamp Asia 2026 Leadership team.
