A Diverse Career Journey

Vanita Nandakumar’s career has spanned various industries, from fire safety to media and healthcare, where she’s excelled in roles like client services, content strategy, and operations. Since 2021, she’s been deeply involved in the WordPress ecosystem, particularly through translating the platform into languages like Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada. Vanita’s experience at Human Made shaped her approach to agency operations, and now, through her ghostwriting agency, Riot Minds, she’s driving creativity. As an organizer for WordPress Tamil Nadu, she’s passionate about supporting local talent and growing the community.

Stepping into WordCamp Asia 2025

In 2023, Vanita took on her first organizing role for WordCamp Asia 2024 in Taiwan as the Operations Team Lead, helping ensure the event ran smoothly. Now, she’s embracing a new challenge as the Communication Team Lead for WordCamp Asia 2025. In this role, Vanita is responsible for shaping the event’s messaging, working with media partners, and creating engaging content to connect with the global WordPress community. Her goal is to amplify WordCamp Asia 2025 through impactful external communications and strong PR.

Looking Ahead and Encouraging Involvement

Currently, Vanita and her team are focused on finalizing media partnerships, developing blog posts, social media announcements, and promotional videos to generate excitement for the event. She encourages anyone thinking about applying as an organizer or volunteer to go for it, as it’s a fantastic way to gain new skills, contribute to the community, and collaborate with passionate individuals. Outside of WordPress, Vanita loves swimming to recharge and enjoys spending time with her cats.
