From Billing to WordPress: A Journey of Discovery

Jevi Fajardo, a Customer Support Training Lead at SURI, embarked on her WordPress journey from a non-technical background, transitioning from billing into the exciting world of technology. A mom of three wonderful girls and an avid fan of K-drama, Jevi first encountered WordPress at a WPUGPH Manila meetup. Initially unsure about her place in the community, she quickly found inspiration from fellow attendees and began exploring the platform’s possibilities. Her first WordPress contribution in March 2023—organizing a local meetup—ignited a newfound passion for event planning and public speaking.

Shaping WordCamp Asia as a Volunteers Team Member

Now an organizer for WordCamp Asia 2025, Jevi plays a key role as part of the Volunteers team, responsible for selecting and managing over 200 global applicants eager to contribute to the event’s success. Having served as the Registration Lead at WordCamp Asia 2024, she brings enthusiasm and dedication to her responsibilities. Jevi is particularly excited to help showcase the culture and hospitality of Manila, the event’s host city. She looks forward to creating an inclusive and memorable experience for attendees through inspiring talks, collaborative workshops, and seamless event management.

Balancing Passions and Family

Outside her WordPress commitments, Jevi cherishes time with her daughters, whether it’s family outings, school projects, or bonding over K-drama. Her journey exemplifies how a supportive community and willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone can lead to personal and professional growth.
