This year’s Wapuu selection was a true testament to the bayanihan spirit — a Filipino value that embodies community, collaboration, and coming together to achieve something greater.
We received 10 submissions from talented designers representing India, Malaysia, Nepal, Lithuania, the Philippines, and Ukraine. After careful consideration, the organizers voted for the Wapuu that best captured our vision for WordCamp Asia 2025.
We’re thrilled to announce that the official mascot for WordCamp Asia 2025 is none other than…Tahopuu!
Tahopuu
Designer: Andrew dela Serna (Philippines)
Feel free to use the Wapuu design files to create custom swag!
Inspired by the iconic Taho vendor, Tahopuu celebrates Filipino street culture and the warmth of its people. Taho, a sweet snack made of silken tofu, arnibal (caramelized sugar syrup), and sago pearls, is a beloved part of daily life in the Philippines. We hope Tahopuu inspires you to try this delicious treat when you visit Manila!
The Spirit of Wapuu
The Wapuu symbolizes the open-source spirit and the inclusive nature of WordPress. Since its creation for WordCamp Japan, Wapuu has evolved into countless forms, each representing the unique culture of WordPress communities worldwide. Tahopuu is the latest addition to this tradition, reflecting the rich culture of the Philippines.
