We are happy to announce that we are collaborating with The WordPress Foundation and WordCamp Central to provide two scholarships for WordCamp Asia 2025.
We are delighted to keep the scholarship available in this edition, continuing our work from 2023.
This post will cover the details of the two scholarships available to apply for WordCamp Asia 2025.
Kim Parsell Memorial Scholarship
The WordPress Foundation has honored Kim’s commitment and valuable contributions to the WordPress project.
In honor of this, the WordPress Foundation funds one individual to help ease the financial burden of travel to attend in-person WordCamps, aiming to further the efforts of contributors who demonstrate Kim’s spirit.
If you are not familiar with Kim, please take a minute to learn more about her and her contributions to the WordPress project through these memories gathered back in 2019 from those who were acquainted with her.
Qualifications
There will be one scholarship recipient to attend WordCamp Asia 2025.
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Is a woman
- Is an active contributor to the WordPress project

- Requires financial assistance to attend WordCamp Asia 2025
If you meet all the requirements and would like to be considered, please apply by submitting the form below.

Diversity Fund Scholarship
We started WordCamp Asia in 2023 with the belief that we can gather the world’s best speakers and bring them to Asia, reducing the cost of participation for residents here.
However, this is still not enough for many of our fellow Asian residents. Issues such as difficulty in obtaining a travel visa and the high cost of travel due to the foreign exchange rate are especially present for many Asian countries’ citizens.
By providing the scholarship, we want to help where we can.
Qualifications
This scholarship is awarded to someone who:
- Is an active WordPress project contributor
- Has never attended any flagship WordCamps (Asia, US or Europe)
- Requires financial assistance to attend
- Is part of the underrepresented demography of open-source contributors
- Is interested in bringing their experience to grow their local WordPress and/or WordPress communities in Asia
If you meet all the requirements and would like to be considered, please apply by submitting the form below.
Application Period
The applications for both scholarships are open until December 6th, 2024.
All applicants will be notified by December 20th, 2024.
Both scholarships will provide financial assistance to the recipients to attend WordCamp Asia 2025, including the flight and accommodation cost for the duration of the event along with the ticket to WordCamp Asia 2025.
The selections will be performed by a small party consisting of WordCamp Central and the WordPress Global Community Team’s program managers.
