Our Journey: From Volunteers to Organizers

The story of the AV team began with a small group of passionate individuals. Janine Bagares, John Carlo Pattaguan, Mumtahina Faguni, Susumu Seino, and Tahir Shahzad joined as AV Crew organizers back in June 2024. This year, Susumu Seino is leading our AV team.

This journey has roots in WordCamp Asia 2023, where some of us worked together as volunteers under the guidance of Shusei Toda, the lead organizer that year. Back then, we barely knew one another, but over time, our shared commitment and passion created a strong bond that now drives us to support one another and deliver the best AV experience for WordCamp Asia 2025.

The Vision: Reimagining Event Coverage

Our initial discussions focused on the responsibilities we could handle and the most recent trends in event coverage. We envisioned a moment after WordCamp Asia 2025 when everyone would cherish their memories through photos, videos, and reels.

By reverse-engineering that joyful moment, we laid the foundation for the AV Crew:

• A picture is worth a thousand words, and a well-crafted video even more.
• This year, we’re focusing not only on traditional coverage but also on reels—short, engaging videos that capture the highlights in a format everyone loves and cherishes.

Welcoming Global Talent

It was truly exciting to see such an incredible response to our call for applications. It was challenging to narrow down the list due to limited capacity, but after a thorough selection process, we finalized a group of 10 incredible volunteers.

The AV Crew is a dynamic team that includes:

• Photographers: To freeze moments in time with their lens.
• Videographers & Editors: To craft compelling stories through video.
• Reel Creators: To bring the energy and excitement of WordCamp Asia 2025 into bite-sized, shareable moments.

We deeply appreciate their enthusiasm, dedication, and the time they are devoting to making this event unforgettable.
