Hello!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been awhile since we were in touch and we hope a good number of you are enjoying your time at our sister event, WordCamp Europe!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been an interesting few weeks with the formation of the organising team and working through the venue contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy, Devin, Eric, Yuli, and I spent time with the local team visiting the venue and consulting with production companies that would help us set WordCamp Asia apart from anything you\u2019ve seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re just about to sign the venue. You can now update your calendars for WordCamp Asia to happen early March 2024 (confirmed dates to be shared in a week or so!). Here\u2019s a quick sneak preview of the location – we\u2019re renting out a building (almost!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The local community is massive and I\u2019ve been told that WordCamp Taiwan (this October) alone would boast of at least 500 attendees. While we were on the same trip, we were lucky to be able to celebrate  the 20th Anniversary of WordPress with the Taiwanese community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s also active work bringing in government support and other open source communities across the region (e.g. Hong Kong) to WordCamp Asia next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
