We are excited to have participants from various corners of the globe at WordCamp Asia 2024! Depending on your nationality, you may have different visa requirements to enter Taiwan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note: We are providing this information as is and we are not the official authority on such matters. Please continue to consult your country\u2019s immigration offices and relevant embassies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Here’s what you need to know: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Before traveling to Taiwan, ensure that your passport remains valid for at least six months.<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n

    If you are not<\/strong> eligible for: Visa-Exempt Entry<\/a><\/strong>, or ROC Travel Authorization Certificate<\/a><\/strong>, you can apply for Visitor Visa for Attending Conference<\/strong><\/a> or Special MOFA’s eVisa through WordCamp Asia<\/strong><\/a>. You can determine the visa you need by country on meettaiwan.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The submission for the special MOFA’s eVisa through WordCamp Asia is closed as of 2024\/2\/14.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    There\u2019s also a Taiwan Gold Card in the Digital Fields<\/a> program available to everyone, which allows for multiple entries and travel incentives to Taiwan. Please note that applying for both a visa and a Gold Card simultaneously does not present any conflicts. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n\n\n\n

    (1) Visa-Exempt Entry and (2) ROC Travel Authorization Certificate  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    (1) Visa-Exempt Entry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Taiwan has visa-exemption<\/strong> agreements with 65 countries, allowing their citizens to enter Taiwan for short stays without a visa. If your country is on the visa-exemption list, you can travel to Taiwan without obtaining a visa beforehand, but please verify the maximum stay period applicable to your nationality.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Stay of up to 90 days<\/mark>:  Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Eswatini*, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan*, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Marshall Island*, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia*(effective till March 31, 2025), Norway, Palau, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tuvalu*, the United Kingdom, the United States of America*, and Vatican City State. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Stay of up to 30 days<\/mark>: Belize*, Malaysia, Nauru, St. Kitts and Nevis*, Saint Lucia*, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Singapore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Stay of up to 14 days<\/mark>: Thailand, Philippines<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Before arriving in Taiwan, please complete an online immigration arrival card<\/a> on the website of the National Immigration Agency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    (2) ROC Travel Authorization Certificate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Nationals of Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam are eligible for online application for ROC Travel Authorization Certificate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    (3) Visitor Visa for Attending Conference and (4) MOFA\u2019s eVisa Program Flexible Mechanism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The conference visa is designed to simplify travel arrangements for events like WordCamp Asia 2024, ensuring a seamless experience in Taipei. Whether you’re self-applying or exploring MOFA’s eVisa Program, this specialized visa provides the necessary authorization for conference participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you are not<\/strong> eligible for: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    (1) Visa-Exempt Entry, or<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    (2) ROC Travel Authorization Certificate <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    (3) Visitor Visa for Attending Conference<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    This visa is specifically designed for conference attendees and provides you with the necessary authorization to participate in the event. Please note that an interview may be required, and you may need to visit the nearest Taiwanese embassy or consulate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As part of the application process, you will need to provide evidence of documents, which includes an invitation letter. Please print out the visa invitation letter<\/a> and proof of conference ticket (email subject: Your Ticket to WordCamp Asia 2024) to complete your visa application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    (4) MOFA\u2019s eVisa Program Flexible Mechanism<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The submission for the special MOFA’s eVisa through WordCamp Asia is closed as of 2024\/2\/14.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Traveling to Taiwan may pose challenges for attendees from specific countries. Therefore, we are committed to providing you with a seamless online eVisa application experience. Through collaboration with government organizations, we have streamlined the application process and outlined the timeline, aiming to alleviate your concerns and prepare you for your visit to Taiwan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. The eVisa is a single-entry visa, allowing a maximum stay in Taiwan of 30 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Please note that you do NOT<\/strong> need to visit an embassy to obtain an eVisa. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. According to the eVisa flexible mechanism policy, we can only submit your eVisa application one month before the event, which will be after February 7.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. eVisa application will be closed on 2024\/02\/03 (extended deadline 2024\/02\/14).<\/strong> The application link can be found in your ticket confirmation email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      Special eVisa Requirements<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
